SUMMARY:Timeless Textiles Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a day of displays\, demonstrations and talks about early and contemporary textile work in New England.  There will be demonstrations in quilting\, spinning  natural dyeing\, and historical dating of textiles and quilt patterns.  There will also be an antique sock machine on hand. Inside the Meeting House\, there will be displays of traditional and antique quilts as well as contemporary quilts from around New England.  Hourly discussions with visiting speakers will provide information on different fiber arts. For kids\, there will be hands on activities outside under the tent and light refreshments will be served.

DESCRIPTION:Historic presentation by Stephen Taylor on New Hampshire’s One Room School Houses-the Romance and the Reality.  Hundreds of one-room schools dotted the landscape of New Hampshire a century ago and were the backbone of primary education for generations of children. Revered in literature and lore\, they actually were beset with problems\, some of which are little changed today. Steve Taylor is farmer\, writer and longtime scholar of the state’s rural history and culture.  \nWe are grateful to “NH Humanities to Go” program\, the co-sponsor of this event.

These thirty minute services will include simple songs\, prayers of the people\, reading of scripture\, a brief meditation\, and a sending forth into the coming\nweek. We hope you will depart from the service refreshed and renewed! Services will be arranged by Rev. DESCRIPTION:Date change due to Weather. The event is now Sunday July 30th. Hope to see you there. \nIce Cream Social\, Music\, Foot tapping and Dancing on the lawn to Baker Valley Band. Come explore the Dana Meeting House and bring a blanket to enjoy music—and ICE CREAM— on the lawn. The Band is comprised of musicians ranging in age from mid teens to mid 80s. They perform music from the 1860s to the present day.
